K.C. Nayfield M.S., D.V.M.
|
Dr.Nayfield is the Owner/Chief of Staff at Midway Animal Hospital. He opened Midway Animal Hospital in July 1982. His special interests are general surgery, orthopedic surgery, knee surgery, fracture repairs and endoscopy. He has received his B.S. in 1974 CumLaude from F.S.U., M.S. in Veterinary Physiology from U.F. in 1975 and his DVM at UF in 1980. He has been happily married to Marybeth for 32 years and has two sons Kyle, 23, and
Cory, 20. He has two dogs, Arlo and Mogi the "Mongrel Corgi."He opened Midway Animal Hospital in July of 1982. |

Mark T. Lowe, D.V.M.
|
Dr.Lowe has been with Midway
since 1985. His special interests are avian, exotic and wildlife. He
graduated from The Ohio State University in 1975 where he received his D.V.M.
he has 4 dogs and 4 cats. He has been married to wife, Susie, for over thirty years. They have three children, twins Jason and Shannon, and his son Ian. In his spare time he enjoys working with the manatees and other exotic wildlife at Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park. He is also involved with and volunteers for many local organizations like the Crystal River Kings Bay Rotary Club.

Rachel Day, D.V.M.
|
Dr.Day has been with Midway since June of 2001 Her special interest include canine and feline medicine and soft tissue surgery as well as Ultrasonography. She graduated from the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her D.V.M. She is happily married to her husband Jeff who share two wonderful kids Zachary and Nathan. When she isnt working she likes to spend her time with her family,
boating, fishing and water skiing/wake boarding. |

Robin Dearden, D.V.M.
|
Dr. Dearden has been with Midway since 2002. She graduated with honors from the University
of Florida College of Veterinary
Medicine. Her special interests include internal
medicine and ultrasonography. She is an
avid Gator football fan and enjoys attending the games when she can. Her hobbies include photography, exercising,
boating as well as dancing and singing karaoke with friends. She has been married since 1997 and has
1 child, whom she brags about relentlessly.
Her other family member is a 12 year old lab mix with Cushings disease.

John Peterlin, D.V.M.
|
Dr. Peterlin graduated from Crystal River High School in 1985. He attended Auburn University on a four year NROTC scholarship and served as an officer in the US Navy until 1996. John returned to Auburn and was accepted to the Veterinary program in 1998. He received two noteworthy awards while in the veterinary medicine program. The Dr. E. A. Davis award for clinical proficiency in both large and small animal surgery and medicine and the Auburn University President's Award given annually to the outstanding graduate of each college based on leadership, scholarship, patriotism, and integrity. John graduated with honors from the Auburn University College of Veterinary medicine in May of 2002 and joined the staff of MidwayAnimalHospitalin September of 2002.
His special interests include allergy and skin disease, small animal medicine and surgery, wildlife and exotic medicine.
Dr. Peterlin's hobbies include sailing, biking, wildlife photography, and singing in the church choir. He is the immediate past president and currently serves as a board director of a local nonprofit organization, The Friends of the Chasssahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge Complex Inc.

Jodi Acosta, D.V.M.
|
An Indiana native, she
received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University
in 2004 and has been at Midway since the autumn of 2004. Her special interests
are dentistry, internal medicine and wildlife. She has assisted Dr. Lowe with
medical care of the animals at Homosassa Springs State Wildlife park including
manatees, otters, bobcats and cougars.
Her family includes two geriatric dogs, Rocky & Apollo.
In her spare time she likes to travel and has been to places like Sicily, Rome, Poland, Hawaii,
Canada, South Africa and Okinawa.
Dr. Acosta also loves to see movies, exercise and to enjoy local water
lifestyle.

Nancy Kicherer, D.V.M.
|
Dr Nancy has been at Midway Animal Hospital since January 2003. She received a BA in Psychology at George Wash University, a BS in Animal Science at University of Maryland, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of the Philippines.
Dr Nancy owned and operated a small animal clinic in Madison, Va. She sold her hospital and moved to Florida in 2003, fulfilling a lifelong dream of her husbands’ to live in a more tropical climate.
Dr Nancys’ special interests are in dentistry, internal medicine, and behavior. Her hobbies include kayaking and gardening.
