Midway Animal Hospital is a full-service facility offering quality care for all life-stages of dogs, cats and many exotic species.

Surgery: To maximize the safety of surgical procedures, all patients undergoing general anesthesia at Midway Animal Hospital benefit from extensive anesthetic monitoring including electrocardiogram (heart function), pulse oximetry and capnography (respiratory function), and temperature monitoring (to prevent hypothermia). Anesthetized patients are closely monitored by our skilled doctors and professional staff. Blood tests are performed routinely prior to anesthesia to detect potential problems which may not be apparent on physical exam.

Soft Tissue Surguries performed routinely include spay and neuter, feline laser declaw, repair of common eyelid malformations (Cherry eye and Entropion), ear trimming, anal gland removal, perineal urethrostomy for cats with chronic urinary obstruction and many others.

Orthopedic Surgeries most commonly performed include fracture repair, patellar luxation repair, and cruciate ligament repair.

Full service dentistry including scaling and polishing, fluoride treatment, tooth sealant application, digital x-rays and extractions.

Encoscopy/Colonoscopy is far less invasive than the surgical alternative. A flexible endoscope allows visualization and tissue sampling from many parts of the gastrointestinal tract. This equipment is also utilized for retrieval of foreign objects within the esophagus and stomach.

Digital ultrasound enables noninvasive evaluation of structures beyond the abdominal cavity. We do not yet offer cardiac ultra sound (echocardiography), although we are working hard to become proficient in this highly specialized skill.

Our Intensive Care Unit provides climate control in an oxygen-enriched environment for most critically ill patients.

In-house blood analysis allows on-the-spot, rapid evaluation of blood counts, serum chemistry and electrolytes. Results may be obtained within 20 minutes.

Dermatologic services include diagnosis and treatment of infectious and allergic skin diseases.

Reproductive services include collection and evaluation of sperm and artificial insemination.

Chemotherapy for management of many types of cancer, an unfortunately common disease of cats and dogs.

Cardiac evaluations including x-rays and electrocardiogram, with evaluations and recommendations by a board-certified cardiologist.

While the veterinarians and staff of Midway Animal Hospital strive to successfully diagnose and treat all of our ill patients, we also work in conjunction with many board-certified specialist in an effort to ensure a positive and healthy outcome for even the most challenging medical and surgical cases.
